Middle-class Wages and Stockholders

America’s greatness has been its ability to recognize the importance of the individual and the importance of working together to advance our nation. Some management (Costco’s as an example.) has been criticized by stockholders for paying wages to employees that the stockholders believe are excessive and thereby cutting into stockholders dividends. A similar concept is often espoused by the Chamber of Commerce when the issue of minimum wage is under consideration. Both of these groups for fail to connect a strong middle-class with a strong demand for products that higher wages will create. We need to get back to recognize that and individuals profit may not be good for the nation in the long run.

Where have all the economist gone?  The Nations needs new economic theory that supports a strong Middle-class.
