Books to Review

For many years corporations, in the interest of efficiency, have been removing the checks and balances put in place by the founding fathers that separated the individual and government – protecting both. If we are to maintain a strong American middle-class individuals and groups of citizens will have to petition Congress to replace some of the checks and balances. Before we discussed areas where our political system needs repaired you may want to review the comments of different authors who agree there is a need for a “system upgrade”. Listed below are three recent books that you may want to review.

Don Peck (writer on economy and American society) in his book Pinched;

Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson (political science professors) in their book Winner Take All Politics;

Dylan Ratigan (political commentator) book Greedy Bastards.

The thing in common in the three books is that solutions are suggested but how to make them happen in the current political environment are vague.
